Step 3 – Send Them to a Quality Success Page

It’s sufficient enough to simply have a pop up show when people click the submit button to give you their email so they know they’re signed up. You have the opportunity to thank them for signing up and let them know to check their email and what not, but this can be so much more.

You have the opportunity to really add value to your site here. Why not include some sharing options? Also include your social media here to encourage more followers. The options here are endless and really allow you to take advantage of an audience very much interested in what you’re offering.

Step 4 – Send them a Great Welcome Email

Like your landing page after someone clicks to give you there email address, you can just use this email to send a generic welcome and thanks for signing up email, or you can really make this work for you by adding sharing, encouraging social media action and more. Again the options are endless here but far too many businesses don’t take advantage of this at all.

Step 5 – Add Your Sign Up to Facebook

This step is great for anyone, and perfect for anyone else. Yes, it should be used by everyone whether you have the most advanced Website for your business or you just work through Etsy or eBay.

Through Facebook you can use a different form, incentive and even landing page or you can just recycle the process from your Website. Either approach works with Facebook.

What I love about this is that fact that you don’t need a Website necessarily to still collect email addresses which makes this perfect for any Etsy owners, eBay sellers or anyone else without an official Website.

Step 6 – Test Everything

Testing is the key to any successful Website looking to grow and improve and should also be for your email marketing program. You have the option to test everything from your sign up for to your landing pages and your emails.
